1. Login to Cloudy.Services
- 1. Open Web browser (For example: Internet Explorer, Firefox etc.)
- 2. Enter following address: https://servers.cloudy.services/
- 3. Under Login button You can choose language (default is English);
- 4. Enter username, password and domain (sales manager will provide this information to You);
- 5. Click: „Login”.
2. Telia Cloudy.Services Dashboard
- 6. Click on Dashboard menu left side and you can see Running and Stopped Virtual Machines, also Total Count of Virtual Machines, Networks and user account Latest events.
3. Create Virtual Machine
- 7. To create Your first virtual machine click in left pane on Compute and then on Instances menu;
- 8. Click Add Instance;
- 9. In step 2 “Select a Template” → In tab “Featured” select “MS Windows Server – VMware” → Choose Hypervisor “VMware”;
!!! If your OS is Windows family, we are suggest using VMware Hypervisor !!!
- 10. In step 3 “Compute Offering” select any compute offering, i.e. “2 CPU / 4GB RAM / 1Gbps / Auto Start - CLOUDY”;
- 11. In step 4 “Disk Size” you can choose which one of DC space you want to use by selecting any available disk offering , i.e. “Custom disk - NL SAS in A2 DC - CLOUDY” → Set up disk size;
- 12. In step 5 “Networks” you can create any number of custom network offerings;
- 13. In last step 8 “Details” field Name (Optional) write “VirtualServer” → click Launch VM;
- 14. Wait while virtual machine is created. If this is your first virtual machine then it could take up to 3-4 minutes – your first network also will be created.
4. Installing virtual machine
- 15. In Instances section click on VirtualServer;
- 16. In Details tab click on View console ;
- 17. Perform Windows server installation until you are logged in for the first time.
- (If you choose to install Windows Server 2022/2019 from featured templates then you don’t need to install VMware tools because they are already installed in template.)
- (If you choose to install VS on the VMware hypervisor virtualization platform, mouse activity will be available after installing VMware tools.)
5. Installing VMware Tools for Virtual Machine (The installation of these tools is a mandatory requirement to ensure correct VS operation and SLA.)
- 18. Go to Instance menu → click on VirtualServer → click Deatach ISO → Yes → click Attach ISO → choose "VMware Tools 11.3.5 - 18557794" (depending on the option in step 2.) → OK;
- 19. Click View console → click Start → open This PC → choose DVD drive (D:) VMware Tools → hit Enter” → run setup64.exe → Go through wizard steps;

- 20. Check Next → Next → Install → Finish → Click "Yes" to reboot server;
6. Configure VirtualServer to access from the Internet by Remote Desktop or SSH for Linux
- 21. After restarting VirtualServer in ViewConsole click Ctrl-Alt-Del → enter Password → Click Done;
- 21. Click Start button → Click on settings → System → Remote Desktop → Advanced settings → select "Require computers to use Network Level Authentication to connect(recommended)" → on dialog box Remote Desktop Settings click Confirm;
- 23. Close “Control Panel\System and Security\System window”.

7. Configure network and firewall
- 24. To allow Internet connections from LAN you should go to CloudStack → Network menu;
- 30. Select 10.171.0.0/20 in CIDR column → click mouse right button and choose Copy;
- NB! 10.171.0.0/20 is the default Guest LAN CIDR, but you can use any CIDR, i.e. 192.168.0.0/24;
- 31. NB! All outgoing traffic is blocked by default. To allow all communications between your VirtualServer Guest network and the Internet configure your egress traffic rules:
Click MyGuestLAN → Egress rules → in Protocol column choose All → in Source CIDR column click mouse right button and choose Paste → click Add;
- 32. To allow connect from Internet to VirtualServer you should go to Network menu;
- 33. In column Quickview click on “Public IP Addresses”;
- 34. Write down IP address from column IPs (for example 18.104.22.168) – you will need it later in RemoteDesktop client tool;
- 35. Click on IP Address (for example) 22.214.171.124[Source NAT];
- 36. Click on Firewall and enter 0.0.0.0/0 in Source CIDR field, 3389 (22 for Linux SSH) in Start Port and End Port field → Add – this will allow RDP connections from any IP address on the Internet;
- 37. Click on (for example) 126.96.36.199 [Source NAT];188.8.131.52
- 38. On Port Forwarding enter in Private and Public Port fields 3389 (22 for Linux SSH);
- 39. Click Add;
- 40. Click in Select field;
- 41. Apply;
- 42. On Your local computer start Remote Desktop Connection application (Click Start menu → All Programs → Accessories → Remote Desktop Connection) and write the IP address (that you wrote down 34rd step, for example 184.108.40.206);
- 43. Click Connect.
