In the "Workflow profiles" settings, you can create profiles that can be automatically applied to newly ingested media or files.
The profiles are created here and then assigned to folders in the Media and Files sections. When the workflow profile is configured for a folder you have to make a similarly named folder path under FTP /media folder, e.g. for a folder tree Root → Movies → Comedies you will create folders /media/Movies/Comedies to place the respective files and ingest them in a particular folder.
There are 2 types of workflow profiles: Media and File.
Media type workflow profiles can be applied to media in the Media section. The profiles have these settings:
- Main tab:
- Name;
- Generate thumbnails for the player;
- Subtitle time offset - subtract the time interval from source subtitle times;
- Choose if asset name should be updated from video - when the video file is uploaded after some other files, e.g. audio or subtitles, which do not contain correct media name;
- If FTP uploads should replace or append if a duplicate is found - defines the action if a new file with the same name is ingested.
- Languages tab:
- Set default language (ISO 639-2);
- Set language order for the player.
- Player Settings tab you can choose predefined Player, Advertisements, and Protection Settings which you can edit in the Settings - Players section. You will be redirected to the Player presets tab in our new Videosher portal.
- Security tab - set default settings for respective parameters of media asset:
- enable encryption method: DRM, AES-128 or DRM with AES-128 as fallback (to activate these features contact your account manager);
- Use token for playback;
- Use token for submanifests and chunks – this option works in conjunction with Use token for playback, improves the protection of the content. May be used only with compatible players;
- change Token duration – from 1 hour to 1 month.
- Transcoding tab:
- Choose transcoding preset;
Clean {\a} formatting codes - this applies to subtitle files;
- Choose to re-transcode if the source is updated - text-based, TS (DVB) or ISM subtitles update for transcoded assets without re-transcoding by clicking Media action Update subtitles from the source.
- Enable auto transcode - turn on auto transcoding based on criteria.
- File transfer tab:
- Add file naming patterns - define own file naming patterns from accepted fields if you wish to override the default file naming format, sample pattern [assetID{0,8}]_[name]_[bitrate]_[language{0,3}][channel{1}].[ext], numbers represent acceptable field lengths;
- Set tar file options:
- by default ignore tar file folders checked;
- choose to use manifest file;
- add manifest file name.
- Configure file Output (NOT ingest, this is upload FROM the Telia Video cloud) properties, you can choose to do that automatically here or in Media section Action's to Upload to external each separately:
- Set title for transfer;
- Choose preset pack (transcoded) from which to transfer files;
- Choose storage - Upload destinations;
- Upload file extension pattern - only extensions listed here will be uploaded, e.g. mp4, ismv, isma, ttml.
- Add path and choose to create storage directory.
- Add file naming patterns - define own file naming patterns from accepted fields if you wish to override the default file naming format, sample pattern [assetID{0,8}]_[name]_[bitrate]_[language{0,3}][channel{1}].[ext], numbers represent acceptable field lengths;
- Availability tab:
- Choose videos to be published automatically.
- Media availability time - hours (0 is never)
- Media expire time - hours (After what time media will expire - not available for playback, 0 is never);
- Delete source file after transcoding - hours (0 is never), the following warning will be issued:
- Delete transcoded media files after upload - hours (0 is never);
- Delete all media files after upload - hours (0 is never);
- Delete asset when expired - hours (0 is never).
